State of the Industry: on the Up and Up
It seems that the video game industry is still rockin’. If you’re looking for a career or an investment opportunity, you might consider it. (But consult a professional financial adviser first. I just speculate.) Check it out. Efluxmedia reports:
On a year-to-year basis, the industry grew to $18.9 billion from $14 billion last year. Video games sales are up 35 per cent to $9.5 billion, while console sales also climbed 22 per cent to $3.3 billion, the NPD reported. The report highlights the fact that the industry may very well record returns of nearly $22 billion for the year. “
This growth, no doubt, is due to gamers like yourselves. Still looks to me like the industry is recession proof; I’ve blogged about this before:
