PWNorDIE.com has teamed up with International MMORPG developer and publisher NCsoft ® to offer seven excited gamers a shot at immortality. These gaming icons have been chosen to have their DNA digitized and sent to the International Space Station when video game mastermind Richard Garriott makes the trip on October 12, 2008, as part of Operation Immortality, a project intended to collect and archive the very best of what humanity has accomplished by creating a digital time capsule of the human race. The time capsule will include messages from people around the world, a record of mankind’s greatest achievements, and DNA samples from some of our brightest minds and most accomplished athletes.

Nick Smith , founder/producer of PWNorDIE, Robert “FourZeroTwo ” Bowling of Infinity Ward (developer behind the 2007 Game of The Year Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare ) , Jo Garcia , Playboy Cyber Girl of the Year 2008 and fanatical gamer, 12 time world champion gamer Johnathan “Fatal1ty ” Wendel, MLG Halo star Dave “Walshy” Walsh, Mike Kulas, President of award winning game company Volition (developer of Saints Row 2 ) and others, will have their DNA digitized and added to the “Immortality Drive” along with world renowned authors, athletes and other innovative minds.

“I was honored that Operation Immortality chose PWNorDIE to put together a group of gamers to be included in the project. We decided to take a 2,2,2+1 one approach. We pulled two fans of gaming, Jo Garcia and myself, two game development industry related icons in FourZeroTwo and Mike Kulas, and two of the best players in gaming history with Fatal1ty and Walshy. The ‘plus one’ will be a lucky gamer chosen to join us via a contest run on PWNorDIE.com.” (www.pwnordie.com/promos/yourdnainspace )

Jo Garcia was one of the most excited of the group about this adventure: “I never thought that I would be part of a digital time capsule with some of the best gamers in the world. I am just a girl who loves to play video games. And now, I get to be a girl who is immortalized with the gaming greats until the end of time.”

Though clearly honored to be part of this amazing opportunity, the two gamers on our list took bit of a tongue-in-cheek approach to the whole thing. Fatal1ty’s reaction was, “I’m honored to be considered to have my DNA blasted into space… sounds crazy but interesting. I guess goes same for my profession…sure why not….upload me now!” In a similar fashion, Walshy’s reaction was, “It’s an honor to take part in this project and I look forward to seeing myself in the future.”

FourZeroTwo also had a humorous response to the opportunity. He remarked, “I’m extremely stoked to be chosen to be a part of this amazing and one of a kind opportunity. The chance to immortalize my genetic gamer ability and superior, nearly non-human, eye/hand coordination for the purpose of breeding a future race of super human gaming beings is the most exciting thing I’ve ever been a part of.”

“Space is truly the next frontier, so when asked to donate to thisincredible voyage, I was honored,”  said Mike Kulas. “Knowing that my DNA is floating around somewhere in space gives me hope that one day myname will carry on through some funky extraterrestrial cross-species breeding.”

The “Immortality Drive,” is currently in the process of being loaded with information from people all over the world at the OperationImmortality.com website where visitors can leave their mark on mankind by sending a personalized message into space, vote for mankind’s greatest achievements, or enter to win a chance to have their DNA digitized and sent into space with the chosen few to possibly be mankind’s last hope.
