A huge reason I couldn’t get into World of Warcraft was the look. It’s old and dated to me, even with the hardcore community continually telling me “its the style!”, I just can’t justify purchasing it and paying to play. Anyway there are much better looking titles which cost me $0 to indulge in. Maybe the game would appeal to me would there be a graphical overhaul of the title. A WoW2 perhaps?

Celebrated developer, Blizzard, don’t believe WoW will ever need a graphical update in the future. Speaking to Videogamer.com , Blizzard proclaimed the future expansions will keep the game looking and feeling fresh.

“It may never be necessary. It may be possible that just through
constant iteration we’re able to keep the game looking fresh enough. I
mean for us it’s never been a priority to have the highest tech game on
the market”

While I can understand the need to be available to a huge market, I can only believe that WoW will soon die off when users realise their computer can handle so much better. Age of Conan, a more recent title in the MMO universe, has already hit 2nd spot in the most subscribed MMO list and with some great new Korean MMO’s in the works could this be the fall of WoW?

One thing most of us have learnt is that MMO players enjoy familiarity, so I doubt WoW will fall any time soon. I suppose graphics are not everything but I just don’t feel right paying out monthly for a title that looks dated. Let me know what you think!
