I’ll admit that I’m not always calm and collected when dealing with the occasional frequent jackass online.

When you are on XBOX Live or the Playstation Network, how do you deal with these charming individuals?

A. Ignore them–mute the other team, turn down your headset so that you can’t hear them, go into private chat with one member of your team.

B. Take the high and mighty route–go all “morally superior on ‘em.” Point out how calm and cool you are and what a foaming-at-the-mouth-rabid mess the other guy is.

C. Outwit them–insult their grammar, gamertag, failure to use rockets correctly, etc.

D. Tumble down to their level and unleash a torrent of carnage and cussing in the lobby, over messages, etc.

I’ll tell you that I’d really like for my crew and I to start using team chat on XBOX Live when it comes out. It’s gotten to the point that I don’t want to hear a peep from the other team, whether they’ve won or lost. (Even when they lose, I hear things like: “You guys just used the shotgun…. how weak!” What? You haven’t figured out how to defend against a shotgun? Not my problem.)

What are your slick moves? How do you stay sane online?
