The VIP demo for Endwar was supposed to go live on Tuesday this week for those that pre-ordered the game from Gamestop(US) and Gamestation in the UK. Although “enlistment” keys were sent out allowing customers to sign up on the website, no actual keys for downloading the VIP Demo on Xbox Live have yet been sent out to the general populace.

Fans of the upcoming game have been left disappointed and abandoned by Ubisoft, who have only released two updates on the community forums without specifying exact times and dates for the release on Xbox Marketplace.

Colby AKA Packerton said in a gamer created IRC chat “I find it funny, we were supposed to have the beta on Tuesday but won’t get it till today, friday, so we’ve all been wondering since then when it was coming.”

While the problem with getting the demo live has not been fully revealed, it is speculated that the problem is with Xbox Live itself, rather than a direct Ubisoft problem.

Either way, those that pre-ordered and were extremely excited to get their hands on the demo have been left disappointed and with a sour taste in their mouths. It’s even led to a small number cancelling their pre-orders due to poor customer service.

Personally I’ve also been leaping onto my computer to feverishly check my email every hour for some indication I might get my key, but alas it hasn’t happened yet.

An update has just come in that says the demo will now definitely not be live until tomorrow (Saturday), instead of, as was promised, today. Thus there is even more anger flowing through the veins of those that have been waiting long enough already.

According to one customers outburst “Ubisoft need to get off their throne of LIES”. I think that quite aptly summarises it, we’ll keep you updated.

UPDATE: The exact time has been posted: “We are now planning for the EndWar VIP Demo to be up and live at 9AM (US Pacific time) on Saturday, October 11th.”
