This week was a big week for many. On Tuesday the people of the United States of America elected Illinois (POD’s home state) Democrat Senator Barack Obama to be the 44th President of the United States. Then on Friday Microsoft and Epic released the long awaited Gears of War 2 game on the Xbox 360. So needless to say this was a pretty awesome week for many.

Leading up to this historic week we have had fun with the politics with our Sarah Palin Video Game Photoshops and our All Your Base Are Belong to Us Election Edition video. The photoshops were featured on Kotaku, GamePolitics, other sites, as well as in print in Play magazine this month. The All Your Base video was featured on G4tv’s Feed, on GamePolitics, and was named one of The “Top 20 Video Game Moments In the 2008 Presidential Election” by Das Gamer.

We have been keeping up with Gears of War 2 as well. We have several GOW2 videos on the site. Also we did a side by side comparison of Gears of War and Gears of War 2 in the “Flashback Map Pack” that Kotaku featured (thanks Owen Good and co.). Most recently we prepared a 10 Step Guide to the Gears of War 2 Launch.

So to celebrate the culmination of these two events, I thought it was fitting to combine the two of them. Barack Obama Meets Gears of War 2. Rather than just adding Barack to some random game screenshot, I chose to combine him with Mr. “Dude Huge” Cliff Bleszinski (formerly Cliffy B) and the now famous image of him holding the Chainsaw Lancer. Add a little American Flag backdrop, merge the Obama logo with the Gears cog, and finished.
