5 New Call of Duty Perks Proposed

The PWN or DIE crew has been playing Call of Duty: World at War more than any other multiplayer game lately. Apparently, we aren’t the only ones as COD:WAW has been the most played game on Xbox Live since taking over for Halo 3 earlier this month. We have come across all sorts of unruly characters on or way up through the ranks. These players use all of the tools at their disposal to try and get a leg up and ruin the fun for everyone.

The glitching on the maps has been one of the biggest bummers in playing COD5. There are exploits on pretty much all of the maps from Roundhouse, to Airfield, to Downfall, to Castle, and even my favorite tank map Seelow. There is an obvious correlation to be drawn from those that use these glitches to get under the maps. We can hope for patches that will fix some of these problems, and this is for sure not the only big title with major glitches.

Another source of frustration comes from some of the perks within the game. To be fair, there are ways of combating the various perks, but that does not make them less frustrating. Using combinations of the various perks (ie: JuggerDom or JuggerStand) can provide for anxiety filled moments. To combat the use of these perks as well as add to the gameplay experience, we have come up with five new perks to add to the Call of Duty franchise.

Call of Duty Suggested Perks

These are the five perks that we would like to see added. There are aspects of some of these already in the games, but they are different for the most part. Also what might work in the WWII games may or may not work in the modern warfare variants. Either way, let us know what you think and if you have any other ideas for perks to add to your classes… or if you have a good reason to ever use the juggernaut class.

Diffuser Perk Diffuser Perk This perk would allow players to diffuse enemy explosive devices and replenish their own supply of explosives. This could be combined with the “Bomb Squad” perk in COD5 so that the explosives are highlighted on the screen.
Infiltrator Perk Infiltrator
This perk would make the player appear on the map and screen as a friendly to the enemy team. Rather than seeing the customary name in red, the opposition would see the player’s name in green. Knowing the players on your team, looking at the character model rather than the name, and calling in recon will combat these spies.
Undead Perk Undead
This perk would allow users to “play dead”. This is different than laying prone. With this perk enabled, players can flop to the ground unarmed and without their tag being shown on screen. Getting up will not be silent or very fast which makes this more of a defensive perk rather than a sneaky offensive one.
Athlete Perk AthleteThis perk is about speed. There is the “Endurance” perk already that allows you to sprint for distances, this will allow you to run a bit faster. This could ultimately add better jumping, for higher legitimate spots added specifically for this perk. Additionally there could be heavy guns someday that could only be carried by athletes too.
Repo Man Perk Repo ManThis perk would allow players to hijack enemy vehicles or seat themselves in unoccupied enemy turrets. An adverse effect of hijacking a vehicle would be the damage incurred by the breach. Additionally if the original driver had the “Martyrdom” perk equipped, the hijacker would be seemingly trapped with a grenade at close proximity.
