In addition to uncovering underground tech fight clubs and passing out “Best of the Best” awards at CES, G4 has been reshaping their editorial team lately. First it was Adam Sessler being promoted and now today they have added Billy Berghammer to their editorial team. The release from G4 is below. Good luck Billy.

G4 has tapped Billy Berghammer to serve as Director of Gaming Editorial, G4TV.com to lead the network’s non-linear and multiplatform gaming strategy and collaborate with the gaming community on behalf of the network. Berghammer joins G4 with more than a decade of gaming industry experience, including serving as Managing Editor of Game Informer Online. The announcement was made today by Joshua Krane, Senior Vice President, Interactive and New Media, G4.

In his new role, Berghammer oversees gaming content for all of G4’s nonlinear platforms, including G4TV.com, G4 on Demand, G4 Podcasts, G4 Mobile, as well as the network’s Wii and PS3 browser-based content platforms. In addition to managing the day-to-day work of G4TV.com’s gaming editorial group, Berghammer works closely with publishers and developers to obtain exclusive content, breaking news and interviews.

“Billy’s outstanding experience coupled with his strong relationships within the gaming industry make him the perfect fit to lead G4TV.com,” said Krane. “As we continue to expand videogame content on G4TV.com, Billy will play an integral role in shaping the web site and maximizing opportunities for gamers, publishers and developers.”

Prior to joining G4, Berghammer served as Managing Editor of Game Informer Online for five years. In this role, Berghammer traveled the globe covering the videogame industry, redesigned the publication’s web site multiple times and was an official E3 judge for the Game Critics Awards. Prior to Game Informer Online, Berghammer created and ran Planet GameCube, a popular Nintendo-specific videogame web site.
