Rush comes to Wii Rock Band with 7 songs from Moving Pictures album
Owners of the Nintendo Wii versions of the Rock Band games are getting another dose of classic rock music DLC. This time 7 songs from the legendary band Rush will be made available on Tuesday.
The lineup features master recordings from Rush’s most successful album, Moving Pictures (1981), including “Tom Sawyer,” “Red Barchetta,” “YYZ” and “Limelight.” Other tracks include “The Camera Eye,” “Witch Hunt” and “Vital Signs.”
Each song will cost 200 Wii Points ($2.00) and will be available Tuesday, February 10, 2009 in the Rock Band Music Store.
Wii fans (including Megan Fox) should be excited about the future of the Rock Band franchise on the Nintendo console. Big promises have been made to get the Wii fans up to speed with the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 owners of the games.
Wii fans can expect a rollout of the previously released downloadable content until the entire back catalogue of more than 550 songs is available. In addition, the regularly scheduled future DLC releases for Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 system will also be available for Rock Band 2 Wii owners soon.
In recent weeks Rock Band for Wii has received music from Lynrd Skynrd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Cars, and more. The non-Wii platforms received music from the Grateful Dead and indie rockers The Fratellis. Supply and demand will keep these games going. Two other music games, Guitar Hero and Lips also have been adding music at a steady pace as well. The love for these games has even caused there to be a formation of a summer camp for digital rockers.
