Activision told us about their slate of music for this month for Guitar Hero World Tour and one of the headliners takes the stage today. More music from the rock icon Jimi Hendrix is available for download. Also in a follow-up to the Bob Seger guitar giveaway, they are announcing another DLC Vault Tournament and this time a replica faceplate of the guitar Jimi Hendrix set on fire on stage at the Monterey Pops Festival is the prize.

There are two new Track Packs for Guitar Hero World Tour available for download today. The second Jimi Hendrix Track Pack features “Foxy Lady” (live from Woodstock), “Freedom” and “Angel” and is available today for PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360. These three tracks, along with the songs in the first Jimi Hendrix Track Pack: “Fire” (live from Woodstock), “Little Wing” and “If 6 was 9,” are available today as singles for Wii.

Also, starting tomorrow, the Vault DLC Tournament will be giving community members the opportunity to win a limited edition Jimi Hendrix Guitar Hero World Tour guitar controller faceplate. This faceplate is a replica of the guitar Jimi Hendrix used at the Monterey Pops Festival, where he famously set his guitar on fire. Not only will the top five finishers in each tournament division win the faceplate, but 100 random prize winners will take one home as well! The fourth European Track Pack features Within Temptation’s “What Have you Done” (Belgium), Die Toten Hosen’s “Hier Kommt Alex” (Germany) and M Clan’s “Carolina” (Spain). The fourth European Track Pack can be downloaded today for PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360 and Wii.

The Track Packs are available via Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 440 Microsoft Points and from the PlayStation Store for $5.49. The songs are also available as singles for 160 Microsoft Points, $1.99 from the PlayStation Store or 200 Wii Points.
