It looks like Infinity Ward is following what Microsoft just did with the Gears of War 2 achievement hackers and will be doing the same for cheaters of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. According to Robert “FourZeroTwo” Bowling, Director of Communications at Infinity Ward, there is a patch in the works to stop cheaters on the Xbox 360 platform.

“Heads up – A
patch is in the works to elminate the cheaters in COD4 on Xbox360.
Going through certification now. Cheaters days are numbered.”

It is good to hear that they are still supporting COD4 while working on Modern Warfare 2 that is due out this November. Robert Bowling also mentions that there are pre-order boxes in the wild for MW2 so be on the lookout.
