How many more Guitar Hero games do there need to be? The answer is at least three more according to a press release from Activision today. DJ Hero, Guitar Hero 5, and Band Hero join the growing lineup of games in the Guitar Hero franchise.

Guitar Hero 5 is the fifth sequel to the original Guitar Hero game that started off with just the guitar and evolved into the full band experience in Guitar Hero World Tour.

DJ Hero will feature a new turntable controller that allows players to simulate the experience of playing and mixing genres of music like hip-hop, r&b, electronica, and dance that are not generally in any other GH titles to date.

Band Hero looks to be the first title aimed at young players, families, and casual fans. The music lineup for this game will feature top-40 hits and can be played with the guitar, bass, microphone, and drums. Band Hero will be the first E10+ rated game which should allow families to enjoy playing mainstream music with their young children.

In addition to these three games that will be added, we offered up five Guitar Hero games that should remain unmade. Ironically, one of those games is in development as we speak. I guess you can’t win them all.
