Legendary Grandmaster Flash Spins Onto DJ Hero

Any discussion that anyone has ever had about classic hip hop or greatest DJ’s has included the name Grandmaster Flash. If he was never brought up, then the conversation was not a creditable one. It seems that Activision is aware of this fact and has added some ‘cred to their upcoming game, DJ Hero.

Today the man that was first to use the turntable as an instrument has been added to the roster of DJ’s featured in DJ Hero. Grandmaster Flash will be contributing two never-before-released mixes to the game. Home DJ’s will be able to play as one of the founding fathers of hip-hop and experience his
amazing turntable talents in Grandmaster Flash’s Herbie Hancock
“Rockit” vs. N.E.R.D. “Lapdance” and Grandmaster Flash “Here Comes My
DJ” vs. Gary Numan “Cars” mixes.

In addition to have music in the game, Grandmaster Flash lends his unique, recognisable voice and DJ know-how
to the game’s tutorial level, schooling players on the game mechanics
and the turntable controller. To top it off, FreeStyle Games created an
exclusive mix using two of Grandmaster Flash’s original creations –
“Boom” and “Tap.”

I personally have not been this happy about a character in a Guitar Hero game since Run DMC was announced for Guitar Hero Aerosmith. I am also really interested to see more on how DJ Hero plays together with the guitar after seeing it at E3 2009.
