Rumor has it that the PS3 is expecting a price drop at GamesCom next week along with their brand new PS3 Slim. According to Chris Lewis, an Xbox exec, this will not affect any plans for the Xbox 360 (now expected to include a price drop of its own).

Lewis had this to say, “We are in a good place in terms of the value we offer. We have a plan and a rhythm we are marching to, and we won’t be knocked off that cadence in terms of what the opposition might do.”

Also widely rumored is that Microsoft will be scrapping the Xbox 360 Pro SKU and dropping the Elite’s price.

Edit: They did drop the price of the Elite.  :)  *That is me making an excited face.*
