If you have been playing the Forza 3 demo but curious to see what all of the fuss is about over Need for Speed SHIFT, your wait will soon be over. The latest in EA’s venerable racing series will be available in demo form this Thursday, October 1st on Xbox Live and Playstation Network. The demo will have two tracks, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and the city course London River, as well as 5 cars. Those that complete the tracks well will unlock the fifth car. The five cars are these:

1. BMW M3 (E46)
2. 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10
3. 2006 Lotus Elise 111R
4. 2008 Nissan GT-R
5. 2006 Pagani Zonda F (unlockable)

So far reviews for the full game have been good, citing the racing experience as being intense and giving players a great sense of speed. Also many reviewers have noted the game’s in-car views are very authentic and provide an unparalleled sim-racing experience. Sounds pretty cool to me, I will be downloading it.
