One of the few AAA titles that did not get pushed back from Fall to Spring was Bioware’s Dragon Age: Origins. Having pushed to be on shelves this Fall, Bioware has now announced that the title has gone gold for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii and is ready for its November 3rd release.
One fascinating part of Dragon Age: Origins’ launch will be that BioWare is releasing 3 DLC packs to accompany the game on Nov. 3rd. Even better, 2 of the 3 packs will be free. The reasons for this act of kindness are: 1. In order to combat piracy, only legitimately acquired (i.e. buying it) copies of the game will be able to download the free copies. 2. BioWare is awesome.
The two free packs will be the Blood Dragon Armor and the Warden’s Keep. The third pack, The Stone Prisoner, will be $15 or 1200 MS Points.
If the week and a half wait is too long for you, you can join the BioWare Social Network to share screenshots, review info on BioWare games, and trade story data. PC players can also download the Dragon Age: Origins Character Creator to create and customize player characters, then upload them to the BioWare Social Network before the game is launched. Either can be found here.
Hopefully you already know about Dragon Age, but if not, here is the story: Players take the role of a Grey Warden, one of the last of an ancient order of guardians. Now, as a rising evil threatens to destroy all life, it is up to players to unite the shattered lands and slay the corrupted dragon known as the Archdemon. To restore peace, players must make ruthless decisions and be willing to sacrifice their friends and loved ones for the greater good of mankind.
