Only a few weeks after its release, Brutal Legend is ready for DLC in an encore performance rockingly named Tears of the Hextadon. The pack will contain two multiplayer maps, named Circle of Tears and Death’s Fjord, pulled from the metal-laden and hilarious imagination of Tim Schafer.

More notably, PS3 users will have something to brag about, as they will receive the DLC free for the first two weeks after its November 5th release. Xbox 360 users will have to pay 400 MS Points from the outset, and after the exclusive deal, PS3 users will see the full price of $4.99.

Tim Schafer himself says that he “needs more maps” because he “play[s] online every night.” It would be tough to swallow this from almost any other designer but Schafer seems like a consummate gamer, which makes his statement completely legitimate.

Here’s the scoop on Tears of the Hextadon:

The Brütal Legend Tears of the Hextadon map pack expands the Brütal Legend Stage Battle multiplayer experience with two new multiplayer maps. In the first map, Circle of Tears, vile waters have carved a rough-hewn circular battlefield into a forsaken land that players must circumvent to destroy their opponent. In the second map, Death’s Fjord, players find themselves on an icy mountain pass with a dense cluster of fans that lie below, waiting to be harvested by those brave enough to capture them without cover from enemy attack. All players who download the new map pack will receive a free axe, the Blade of Ormagöden.
