In the gaming world, the holiday season has already started. Over the past couple weeks, we have already had two dates loaded with big releases (Oct. 20: Borderlands, FIFA 10, WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010, and about 8-quatrillion DS games. Oct. 13: Brutal Legend, Fallout 3 GOTY Edition, Magna Carta 2, and more DS games) and today is the biggest one yet. The release of DJ Hero, Forza Motorsport 3, Tekken 6, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time, and many other lesser-known titles.

Many are eyeing DJ Hero for its unique controller and gameplay. The question on everybody’s mind is “Will it work?” The scratchpad controller is a design that is unproven and relatively alien, not to mention the game itself. Many wonder if the common gaming consumer will really find value and entertainment in a DJ-oriented music game. Conversely however, preliminary reviews have come in calling it “infectiously inventive” (Entertainment Weekly) and “the best music game of the year and a leap forward for the genre.” (GamesMaster Magazine) We eagerly await the result.

A few of the other releases include SimAnimals, Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter, Ben 10 Alien Force: Vilgax Atacks on Wii and DS, Fairytale Fights (Xbox 360, Playstation 3), Madagascar Kartz, and Painkiller: Resurrection for PC.
