Dante’s Inferno Demo Burning onto Hard Drives in December

Those itching to experience Visceral Games‘ newest project since Dead Space: Extraction will get that chance in December, when a demo for Dante’s Inferno will be available for download. The demo will include the entire opening level of the game, named the ‘Gates of Hell,’ where gamers will fight waves of enemies before fighting Death itself. Sounds pretty epic to me. If players can defeat the eternal foe, they will get his trademark scythe, a holy cross, and will basically be ready to take on anything in Hell. EA and Visceral are also bundling in 2 cinematic movies made by Blur, an award-winning visual effects, animation and design studio.

In case you have not heard of Dante’s Inferno, the game will be based on Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy and will have players descend through the nine circles of Hell (limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud, and treachery.

Although the full game will be released on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Playstation Portable, a demo for the PSP will not be available in December. Dante’s Inferno will be released in full in North America on February 9, 2010.
