Even though Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has effectively set sales records for everything ever, Assassin’s Creed II made its presence known in consumers’ wallets this week. Ubisoft’s Italian successor to 2007’s original has sold 1.6 million copies worldwide, which is 32% higher than the IP’s first outing two years ago. As a side note, the original Assassin’s Creed holds the record for fastest selling new IP in the US.

Comparatively, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 sold 1.78 million units its first week in the UK.
