EA Releases Bad Company 2 Screens and Trailers

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 looks great and sounds great, but Battlefield Bad Company 2 is in a class of its own when it comes to immersive visuals and audio. DICE and Electronic Arts have worked hard at putting you in a gritty and realistic combat atmosphere in the Bad Company series of games. Check out these trailers and screenshots to prove that point:

This one demonstrates Bad Company 2′s hectic and chaotic multiplayer:

Area Caucasian Teen Worried ‘Black Dude’ Might Recognize his Voice from XBOX Live

–Naperville, IL. A local caucasian teen is worried that a “black dude” at his high school might recognize Jensen’s voice from playing multiplayer video games on XBOX Live.

Tommy J. (real name withheld by request), 17, said that he has lost his temper in the last few weeks after losing some crucial Halo 3 matches and has frequently used some racial epithets when talking to the opposing team in the subsequent postgame lobby.

Since hurling the slurs at what sounded to him like some African American opponents, Tommy has been increasingly worried that one of these “black guys” is from his school and will recognize his voice and beat him into a whimpering pile of pathetic submission.

“I was getting my square pizza for lunch in the cafeteria the other day, and I was talking to Ryan S. (name withheld), and this one big black dude started staring at me,” Tommy said.  “I thought, ‘Oh shit… he’s knows I’m DeMON1C Sn1PEr [Tommy J.'s gamertag] from Halo… This guy is so going to stomp my ass after school.”

That day passed without incident, but Tommy is still anxious about going to school.

Tommy’s 15-year old brother, Eric,  doubts that Tommy will be attacked.  “Are you kidding me? Tommy’s sweet as pie to black dudes. He’s never even looked at a black guy the wrong way.”

We asked Eric as to why he thought Tommy uses the racial slurs.

“Tommy is just talking shit to impress his dorkass friends on XBOX Live. The only reason he drops n-bombs and shit is because he knows he’s anonymous online. He’s too big of a pussy to say any of that shit to a black dude in real life. I will laugh my onion bag off if he gets a red-assed beatdown, though.”

We asked a local black gamer for his reaction to Tommy J.’s behavior. Terrell Johnston, 18, shook his head and said: “Think I care?  I’ve heard it all on XBOX Live. Same old bullshit over and over. White kids just tryin’ to be shocking.”

Second “Mythic Map Pack” for Halo 3 Landing in Feb.

Most Halo 3 discs in the world have been getting much less attention since Halo ODST came out, especially in terms of multiplayer. ODST’s second disc has Halo 3′s multiplayer mode and more maps as well.

If you decided against picking up ODST and stuck with Halo 3, Bungie hasn’t forgotten you. The remaining maps that were exclusive to ODST will be released on February 2nd. The release of the Mythic 2 Map Pack brings the total number of “Halo 3” multiplayer maps to 24. The Game Add-on includes three action-packed maps: Heretic, Citadel and Longshore.

- Heretic brings players to familiar ground as the “Halo 2” arena Midship returns in “Halo 3.” The stark interior of the Pious Inquisitor might appear austere on first glance, but Heretic’s symmetrical spaces require players to execute complex strategies in order to outplay their opponents.

-Citadel may be a long abandoned Forerunner stronghold, but its small, symmetrical confines are far from secure. Two opposing bases offer little safety for players looking for solace. Instead, Citadel forces small squads to stay in constant communication, keep their heads on a swivel, and be prepared to adjust combat tactics in close quarters.

-Longshore lacks the commercial ships that once made it a lucrative port for Old Mombasa, but it still bustles with activity. Designed for large-scale combat and well-suited for smaller affairs, Longshore’s multitude of industrial buildings, elevated walks, and open inlets conspire to create a complex battleground tailored for multiple combat scenarios.

Mythic 2 Map Pack will be available on Xbox LIVE for 800 Microsoft Points. Mythic Map Pack 1 and 2 are also included in “Halo 3: ODST,” which includes the complete “Halo 3” multiplayer map collection, an all-new campaign and the cooperative experience, Firefight. “Halo 3: ODST” will act as a key to the upcoming “Halo: Reach” multiplayer beta which goes live later this spring.

Nier ‘Story’ Trailer from Square Enix

How do you say it? Nire? Near? I think Square Enix gave it that name so that all of us would sit like idiots trying to figure it out. I guess it could stand for the National Institute of Economic Review (NIER), but I am going to go ahead and assume that a Japanese interactive entertainment developer has no interest in a British economics journal.

Either way, Nier has a new trailer today, and it has nothing to do with economics and everything to do with looking like a game I want to play. Here it is:
