Total Xbox Live Usage Passes 17bn Hours

No one can say Microsoft is really losing any kind of battle against Nintendo and the Wii, because the Xbox 360 manufacturer today announced that the total amount of Xbox Live usage to date has surpassed 17 billion hours.

To give a sense of perspective, that’s more than two hours per person on the planet, according to Microsoft employee Trixie360′s Twitter. It’s also 2 million years. Wow. That almost seems like too much, right? Well it came from over 20 million XBL subscribers that have logged around 850 hours each. Also according to Trixie360, the XBL Marketplace has racked up 1.2 billion downloads, which is about 100 per second.
