Vote on Madden 11 Cover Athlete

Conveniently in time before the Super Bowl, Doritos and EA Sports have partnered up to let fans decide who will be on Madden 2011′s cover, while football is fresh on everybody’s mind. The three candidates are the Saints’ QB Drew Brees (#9), the Colts’ WR Reggie Wayne (#87), and the Vikings’ DE Jared Allen (#69).

Traditionally, QB’s and runningbacks have been the staple position in Madden cover-dom. Only two defensive players have been on the cover and only one receiver. But EA Sports has chosen their cover athlete’s up to this point, so who knows who will be chosen this year?

PS – just as in every year, EA Sports has done a simulation game of Super Bowl XLIV with the underdog Saints winning by four points. Keep in mind that the sim has only been wrong once. To take a look at all of the stats go here (links to Joystiq).

Play as The Who after the Super Bowl

Unless you live under a rock or outside of the US, you likely have plans for this coming Sunday for the broadcast of the Super Bowl. You might also know that The Who is doing this year’s halftime show. If you happen to have a copy of Harmonix’s Rock Band on either Xbox 360, Playstation 3 or Nintendo Wii, you can play their show following the game. This pack will be “The Who Super Bowl S-mashup” and will have a price of 160 MS Points ($2.00), $1.99 on PSN, or 200 Wii Points.

First Fallout New Vegas Trailer Released

The first trailer to the much anticipated follow-up to Fallout 3 has surfaced today. The trailer is not really revealing and leaves you asking more questions than really giving you answers.

This time around, Bethesda is handling the publishing duties for the game and Obsidian will be developing the game itself. Before you ask who exactly Obsidian is and why they are messing with Fallout, I’ll let you know that they conceived both Fallout 1 & 2 and formed from the remains of Black Isle Studios.

Here is the trailer:

Dark Void DLC and Soundtrack Landing Next Week

Next week, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 owners of Dark Void will be able to extend their gameplay with DLC for the game. The DLC will be priced at 400 MS Points ($5.00) on Xbox 360 and at $4.99 for Playstation 3 owners. The pack will be available on February 10th for Xbox 360 and on February 11th for Playstation 3.

The new DLC will be an arcade-esque experience where the player battles through hoards of enemies on the ground and in the air while collecting points and upgrading weaponry, with the goal being to survive to Round 10 and increase their previous high score.

Additionally, the soundtrack will be available next week:

This original Soundtrack features 80 minutes of score hand-picked by McCreary. It also includes a special bonus track, “Theme from Dark Void (Mega Version),” an 8-bit rendering of the main theme written and produced by McCreary for Capcom’s just shipped downloadable DSiWare title, Dark Void Zero. Sumthing Else Music Works will be releasing the soundtracks for Dark Void, available (on CD and digitally) and Dark Void Zero available (digitally) on February 9th.
