EA Makes a Date for Various Titles

This year will see a lot of Electronic Arts games, first with Crysis 2 landing between October and December. Also on the way are the next Dead Space, Need for Speed (which is being developed by Burnout developer Criterion), another Spore, and a “Dragon Age Title,” which will all be released in the last quarter of this year. Considering the amount of content in a BioWare RPG, this probably means another expansion.

These are almost somewhat expected but the biggest surprise is an “Action Title” from Epic Games (developer of Gears of Wars, Unreal Tournament, and the XBLA game Shadow Complex).

Finally, Electronic Arts will also be publishing EA Sports Active for systems other than the Wii. EA Sports Active will probably use the 360′s Natal and the PS3 Motion Controller.

Ubisoft Crossing the Rubicon for Next Assassin’s Creed

There is a lot of news today, so I will be quick with this bit of news. According to Kotaku, during a third quarter financial call, Ubisoft stated that Assassin’s Creed #3 will be take place in Rome, with Ezio again, to track down the Templar Order. Oh and yeah, there will be multiplayer.

As far as details go, the multiplayer aspect has not been fleshed out, but Ubisoft is apparently weighting this part of the game. You might remember that Ubisoft announced about 3 weeks ago that Assassin’s Creed III will be released this year, along with a host of other Ubisoft games.

New Nintendo Hardware En Route, Says Miyamoto

Nintendo is working on another system. Are you surprised? Nintendo’s famous Shigeru Miyamoto was at the 13th Annual Japan Media Arts Festival on Saturday and mentioned that Nintendo is developing new hardware. [link] He said he is also building a new game that uses the Wii MotionPlus controls.

Looking at my watch I guess it is about time for Nintendo to announce yet another system, so this tidbit of news makes complete sense. Stop by again around the beginning of summer and we’ll have some more news additional Nintendo hardware.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars announced

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will arrive in fall 2010, according to LucasArts and TT Games.

LEGO® Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will include all the characters from both seasons of the hugely popular animated television series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, as well as some fan-favourite characters from the beloved theatrical Star Wars Saga. The game will feature brand new battle modes, giving players unique, head-to-head combat and an upgraded level builder, allowing the creation of customized bases and in-game battlefields. Play either as a Jedi or Separatist with all-new character abilities, such as Squad command, Lightsaber slicing, Lightsaber jumps, long distance Jedi attacks and Grapple Tie-Ups, all within a new, easy-to-navigate hub.

How far do you think this LEGO Star Wars thing will go? Lucas has shown that he can keep cranking out new stories based Star Wars, so I suppose the games will keep coming so long as he and his minions can keep up with the writing.

Well, I did enjoy playing LEGO Star wars II: The Original Trilogy. Haven’t beaten it, yet, as I’ve been too busy trying to kill the jokers who run the infinite care package glitch.

Rockstar PS3-Exclusive Turns Multi-Platform

Gamers can tick one game off of the Rockstar Games PS3-exclusive list that now only has the espionage-oriented Agent left. Details from the upcoming Game Informer L.A. Noire exclusive have crept out that the game will also be available on Xbox 360.

L.A. Noire will be set, of all places, in Los Angeles in the late 40′s. The player will be a detective in an open-world model of the city, piecing together clues to solve a series of murders.
