Fans of 1980’s nostalgia may be let down a bit by the upcoming G.I. JOE The Rise of Cobra movie and how they have abandoned most of the look that we knew growing up. The video game adaption however has thrown us a retro bone today by announcing some classic unlockables that will be made available in the game. Included are concept art, character renders, and file cards of 75 different characters, weapons, and vehicles for both the G.I. JOE and COBRA forces.

We love the idea of video game characters being everyday people. We think it would be funny to see Soda Popinski walk into a bar, Mario actually trying to fix a pipe, or Duke Nukem being held up in traffic. Sometimes Average Joes make the best heroes, and we want to see them when they are average (but not like this).

It looks like Eddie Riggs, aka Jack Black, is getting “rock god” status on the cover of Brutal Legend revealed by EA. The box art of this Tim Schafer tale of a roadie turned rock legend features the main character Eddie Riggs atop a pile of carnage and surrounded by chaos.

Today Activision released the box art for one of their many new Guitar Hero games. The artwork is for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Guitar Hero 5.

Today more music additions have been announced for Rock Band in two different releases.

GameStop is offering an exclusive demo of Madden NFL 10 for those that have reserved the game from them.
