The demo for the game Batman: Arkham Asylum, being published by Eidos, will finally be made available for the Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3, and Games For Windows LIVE around the world on August 7th. The official website and community hub for DC Comics™ Batman: Arkham Asylum – the forthcoming action-adventure game developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Eidos, Inc. and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in North America has officially launched!

Eidos Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announce that The Joker will be an exclusive playable character in Batman: Arkham Asylum for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. The character will be made available upon release as a free downloadable character through PlayStation®Network for the PLAYSTATION 3 and can be played in Challenge Maps from the game.

When Batman: Arkham Asylum reaches stores this summer, the DARK KNIGHT
will be taking a fully loaded arsenal along with him for the ride. At
his disposal is a complete suite of gadgets and accessories that
includes everything from a sonar resonator and a Batclaw to an
explosive gel aerosol. Batman will make use need it all to take down
the insane criminals that prowl Arkham Island.

Christopher Dring over at MCV reports that both Eidos and Activision are making strong claims about their respective future releases.
