All across the United States, boyfriends and husbands are rather surprised by their significant others’ ability to quote from Call of Duty: World at War.

It has hardly been a month since Call of Duty: World at War set the first week record for downloaded content on Xbox Live. Today Activision and Treyarch have announced that another milestone has been passed.

One million downloads! That is pretty impressive! Call of Duty: World at War, Map Pack 1 has set a new record for first week downloads of the Map Pack 1 DLC. My verdict: the fans’ reaction is a testament to the quality of the maps, and, for my part, I think the maps are awesome.

Late last night we shared the Modern Warfare 2 teaser trailer that hit the scene at GDC 09. We we only sort of noticed was the lack of mention of the Call of Duty franchise name in it. Now today there has been an official press release from Activision that puts the notion that maybe the COD tag will not be in the MW2 title.

There are a ton of people playing Call of Duty: World at War literally as I am writing this. There is also a large group of people playing COD:WaW’s predecessor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a game that came out almost a year and a half ago.
