Always trying to give you the leg up in your social circle, we are bringing a sequel to last year’s 60 Video Game Costume Ideas in Time for Halloween. In this year’s reprise, the list includes characters and costumes that were not in the previous collection. This time around we went for fresh characters and less traditional costumes. Afterall, everybody else has Mario and Link covered. In addition to having new characters, the list rates each costume on the difficulty of work and costs involved to make it as well as the materials you will need.

A couple weeks ago, we showed you 20 Amazing Cosplay Costumes from Unreality Mag. We are not sure where they found those photos but they were some of the best on the internet. Their fascination with cosplay did not end there though, as they now have ‘A Gallery of Absolutely Terrifying Super Smash Bros. Cosplay’ from photographer Greg DeStefano.

Our friends over at Unreality Magazine have released “The 20 Most Badass Video Game Cosplay Costumes Ever” for the enjoyment of the web. The article features some truly amazing cosplay creativity such as a Brotherhood of Steel soldier from Fallout 3, a Terran Marine from Starcraft, Altair from Assassin’s Creed, and the above Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell.

We love the idea of video game characters being everyday people. We think it would be funny to see Soda Popinski walk into a bar, Mario actually trying to fix a pipe, or Duke Nukem being held up in traffic. Sometimes Average Joes make the best heroes, and we want to see them when they are average (but not like this).

Have you ever imagined what it would be like if your favorite video game characters grew up and went to school together? We have, and the way we picture it is much like our own experiences growing up. There would be pep rallies and proms, jocks and nerds, and of course yearbooks.
