Isaac Clarke will be coming to consoles a second time in Dead Space 2.

Dead Space Extraction does not re-invent the wheel or re-define action gaming on the Wii necessarily, but a great example of how action games on the Wii don’t need to be Halo or Modern Warfare 2. Outside of a couple very minor control issues, Dead Space is one of the few solid shooters on the Wii absolutely worth playing.

Visceral Games will host a webcast today, September 29th, to celebrate the launch of Dead Space Extraction. The webcast will last for one hour and feature Extraction gameplay and a Q&A session with the Visceral Games team for fans.

This week, Electronic Arts begins shipping Dead Space Extraction. The title is the first to be branded with the Visceral Games (formerly EA Redwood Shores) name.

The plot of Extraction predates the story of the original Dead Space released last year, and aims to maintain the intensity of that game.

Dead Space Extraction, one of the Wii’s most anticipated titles for this fall, is receiving the comic book treatment. The comic reunites acclaimed illustrator Ben Templesmith, who worked on 30 Days of Night, and writer Antony Johnston, wrote dialog for both Dead Space and Dead Space Extraction, to work on the game’s chilly atmosphere and story.

Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) and its Visceral Games studio announced today that Dead SpaceTM Extraction, will be available in stores on September 29, 2009 in North America and October 2, 2009 in Europe exclusively for the Wii. Dead Space Extraction delivers the highly-polished, action-horror experience the Dead Space franchise is known for while upping the ante for technical excellence on the Wii with some of the best visuals ever showcased on the platform.
