Yes, you read that right, Nintendo is releasing yet another DS.

Today Nintendo announced they are finally releasing a black version of their family-oriented console, a limited edition to be released in the UK and Ireland first on November 6th. Two weeks later on November 20th, the console will be released in the rest of Europe.

After 3 years at $250 and surviving multiple Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 price drops, Nintendo has finally decided to drop the price of the Wii.

Nintendo says: “Anyone who buys a Nintendo DSi system and connects it to the Nintendo DSi Shop by 12 p.m. Pacific time on Oct. 5, 2009, will automatically receive 1,000 Nintendo DSi Points, which can be redeemed for a variety of games and applications.”

“The red ring of death” is a phrase that strikes fear into the very hearts of Xbox 360 owners everywhere. Sony and Nintendo fanboys often point to this as the biggest drawback to the xbox 360 system. I guess Microsoft has their 54.2 percent failure rate to thank for that. This does not look good for Microsoft especially when you compare the failure rate to Sony’s 10.6 percent for the PS3 and the Wii’s 6.8 percent.

EA is not ready to give up the Rock Band – Guitar Hero fight just yet, and today announced plans to release the ‘Metal Track Pack’ this October. The track pack will add 20 songs to Rock Band’s already epic 800-song catalog, and will release on Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii. The retail price of this pack will be $29.99.

Nordic Games Publishing AB has announced that they are releasing We Sing for the Wii this XMAS.

The game will allow 4 people to sing together.
