THQ’s early summer release of Red Faction: Guerrilla met with warm reviews and provoked RFG developer Volition to announce plans for multiple downloadable content for the game.

Today the first of these, Demons of the Badlands, released today on Xbox Live for 800 Microsoft points ($9.99) and PlayStation Network for $9.99. ‘Demons of the Badlands’ is set several years prior to the original game’s story and features new weapons, vehicles, missions, and a new area called Mariner Valley.

One week away from the release of the ‘Demons of the Badlands’ downloadable content for Red Faction: Guerilla, THQ has provided an update with some extra content of its own. The patch is live now, and will enhance the game’s extensive multiplayer offerings, delivering a new Wrecking Crew mode, matchmaking updates and much more.

Last month we told you about 3 new DLC packs coming out for THQ’s Red Faction: Guerrilla. The first pack, Demons of the Badlands, is scheduled for release on August 13th and follows the story of supporting character Samanya three years prior to the events of the original game. To give you a glimpse of what Demons of the Badlands will have to offer, THQ has released a trailer and a screenshot showing off the new features.

Most video game characters have always had super powers and abilities at their disposal to help them save the day. Some used mechanical suits, heavy weapons, and even supernatural powers to combat evil. But there is a whole other collection of heroes that are just average people that get thrown into crazy situations. Yesterday THQ and Volition announced new DLC for Saints Row 2 featuring Tera Patrick. This morning, April 1, 2009, Volition sent over a new developer diary that discusses a new weapon from their upcoming game Red Faction: Guerrilla.

THQ released some very cool concept art and a really cool trailer featuring some of the weapons and vehicles for the upcoming Red Faction Guerrilla game from Volition. RFG comes out on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC due to come out on June 9th.
